Weaving a Programme of Music Learning- Approaches to Structuring and sequencing music learning in the Orff Schulwerk Classroom

Venue: Shore Preparatory School, 22 Edward St, North Sydney, NSW 2060

Date: Friday 7th to Sunday 9th of July, 9 am – 4:30 pm

Main Presenter: Dr. Felicia Chadwick

Course Description:

(Participants do not need to be in a conventional music classroom to take part in this course. Many contexts are appropriate.)

The course is designed for experienced teachers, in music education, with a focus on the
principles of planning, sequencing, and structuring music learning. The content of the active
engagement and small group music-making sessions can be used directly with, or readily
adapted for, students in school music classrooms. Through involvement with the practical
music-making sessions, teachers will gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental principles and
practices that underpin effective planning for music learning, and how that is
applied to an Orff Schulwerk classroom. Participation is compulsory across all three days.

Note: THIS COURSE IS NESA ACCREDITED FOR 18 HOURS

Fees: Member $450, Non-Member $480, Tertiary Student $300
